Can you help re-unite lost dogs with their owners?
The Guardian, Vale Royal borough council, and local dog rescue services are joining forces to help re-unite lost and strays with their owners.
It all began when the Northwich dog warden posted a message on the Lost and Found page of the Dog Rescue website. He asked any of the users looking for lost animals in Vale Royal to check out the new online facility.
The idea snowballed. Comments on the users board on the Dog Rescue website included: "What a brilliant idea - let's hope other dog wardens catch on quickly!" and simply "thank you."
Cllr Dennis Ford, Lead Councillor for Community Safeguards, said: "Losing a much loved dog can be a devastating experience. With this new service, we can try to reunite missing animals and their owners as soon as possible."
Dogs will be held in kennels for seven days before going to be re-homed. To see if your lost dog has been found, visit the Stray Dogs gallery. The gallery shows detailed pictures of each animal and information about where and when they have been found.
Please contact the Council on 01606 867866 if one of the animals belongs to you.
If you have spotted a stray dog feel free to post details on our messageboard.
